The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Thursday 9th January 2025 Is “God’s Countenance”
Read: Exodus 34:29-35
29. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’. hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31. And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33. And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34. But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35. And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’. face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
When you spend so much time with someone, there is a tendency that you will begin to talk, dress, and behave like them. In the same vein, when you regularly spend time alone with God, His countenance will begin to rub off on you, and you will begin to think and act like Him. This was Moses’ experience in today’s Bible reading.
When Moses went to the mountain to meet with God for forty days, the Israelites noticed, upon his descent, that something had changed about him significantly; they couldn’t look at his face because it shone brightly. Likewise, your appearance before men will change when you spend quality time alone with God.
When you spend quality time with God in fellowship, you will look younger than your age, and people will begin to see the glory of God in your life (2 Corinthians 3:18). Do you want God’s countenance to shine on you? Spend quality time alone with Him consistently from today.
KEY POINT
God’s glory will rub off on you when you spend quality time with Him in fellowship.
