Open Heavens For Teens 6th January 2026 – Don’t Ask for Small Things

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” He went further to assure us that everyone who asks receives. This shows clearly that Jesus can give us anything we ask for—nothing is beyond His power.

There have been times when I asked God for something specific, and He gave me far more than I requested. Many years ago, while I was in London working on the RCCG House Fellowship Manual for the following year, I needed £50 to buy some books and tapes.

I prayed and asked God for that amount. A few hours later, some visitors came, and as they were leaving, they gave me exactly £50—the exact amount I had prayed for.

Before the end of that same day, God miraculously provided another £150. Years later, God reminded me of that incident and said, “If I could provide £150 so easily, why didn’t you ask Me for £5,000,000?” From that moment on, I learnt not to limit God by asking for small things alone.

My dear child, God does not want you to restrict Him with your prayers. He is able to do far more than you can imagine. Ask Him for big things—things that may even seem impossible—and trust Him completely. When you pray with faith, God can meet and exceed your expectations.
