Open Heavens For Teens 6th April 2025 – Love For God

The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Sunday 6th April 2025 Is “Love For God”

MEMORISE: Matthew 22:37

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

BIBLE READING: Psalm 63:1-8

1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

One day, I told God, “Lord, David did a lot of terrible things, even more than Saul, yet You called him a man after Your heart and rejected Saul. I know that You are not partial, but l am curious to know why you did that.” He responded to me, “What did David do in 2 Samuel 6:14?” I replied, “He danced with all his might.”

Then He asked, “Can you show me a place in the Bible where Saul danced for me?” That was when I really knew why God rejected Saul. It is not so much about dancing; rather, it is about the heart of a man after God has raised him. David’s love for God increased as he progressed and became more successful in life, while Saul’s love decreased as he enjoyed more success.

My dear child, are you like David or Saul? How is your love for God now? Is it greater or less than it was before? There are people who could dance vigorously and unashamedly during praise and worship sessions when they first got born again. However, they now feel big in the presence of God. This shows that they no longer love God as they used to. If this is your situation, there’s room for repentance right now.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please set my heart on fire for You once again.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 29:1-30:20, Luke 11:7

HYMN 22 – Sweet Hour Of Prayer! Sweet Hour Of Prayer!

1 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

2 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

3 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I’ll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
