“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me.”
When I was living in sin, I had some friends who regularly visited my house to drink alcohol and joke about everything. However, when I gave my life to Christ and started offering them soft drinks and water instead, they gradually stopped coming around. At first, I felt sad and lonely.
During that period, I kept visiting my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, who was also my mentor. He helped me understand an important truth: sometimes, God allows certain people to walk out of our lives so that He can bring in new people who will help us fulfil our destinies.
Before long, I began making friends in church, and together we became deeply involved in God’s work, including organising campus outreaches.
My dear child, when people walk away from you, let it remind you that your identity is not found in their approval but in God’s unshakable love. Instead of dwelling on loneliness or rejection, trust God to bring the right people into your life at the right time.
Get involved in activities that help you grow—join departments in your church or fellowship, or participate actively in the student union government in your school. Don’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself. Get busy for God, and He will surround you with the right companions.

Instead of feeling bad or rejected when people walk out of your life, get busy for God.
