TEENS OPEN HEAVEN FOR TODAY.

Whenever I see young people actively using their skills in various church departments, I am always delighted. Serving in God’s house places them in an environment where they can be guided, mentored, and trained.

It is also a place where many discover their purpose early in life. I admire these youths and sometimes wish I were younger, so I could do even more for God.

As a teenager, the strength you have now is one of your greatest gifts. Use it wisely. Work hard and invest in your future so that you can become someone God and people will be proud of.

I once told the first graduating class of Redeemer’s University that everyone has a “pillow of suffering” assigned to them.

Your attitude to work and academics determines whether you will burn that pillow in your youth—so you can rest later—or carry it all the way into your old age.

Unfortunately, many young people waste precious time on frivolous, unproductive activities.

The result is future hardship. My dear child, don’t be lazy. Use your mind and your hands productively. Step out of your comfort zone and work diligently. If you work hard now, you will enjoy great rewards in your old age.
