The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Saturday 29th November 2025 Is “God Gets Angry”

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life…”
Today, I want you to understand that although God is love, He can also be provoked to anger when people continually disobey or dishonour Him.
A clear example is found in our Bible reading, where Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli, repeatedly committed terrible sins in God’s house. Despite God’s patience and the many opportunities given to them to repent, they refused to change. Eventually, God pronounced judgment on them.
Beloved, God is loving, patient, and merciful. However, He is also a Consuming Fire. A Yoruba proverb says, “The same teeth a dog uses to play with its puppy is the same teeth it uses to bite when the puppy misbehaves.” In other words, love does not eliminate discipline.
God loves you deeply, but that love does not give you a licence to sin. When someone abuses God’s mercy and continues in wrongdoing, God becomes angry. Remember, His anger lasts only for a moment—this means that once a person genuinely repents and stops sinning, God’s anger ceases, and He relates with the person as if they never sinned.

Do not take God’s love for granted; He is also a Consuming Fire.
