The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Friday 21st November 2025 Is “Praise and Criticism”

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”
If you are a leader—or desire to be one—you must learn emotional intelligence, because people will often hold you responsible for the consequences of decisions, even when you meant well.
One important lesson my Father in the Lord taught me early in ministry is never to let the praise or criticism of people control your emotions. The same people who clap for you today may criticize you tomorrow.
A clear example is Jesus. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna in the highest!” later shouted “Crucify Him!” The same happened to David in today’s reading. His loyal men, who went to battle with him, suddenly turned against him and wanted to stone him when things went wrong.
As a young leader, you must learn from people who walk with God and study His word daily. When challenges arise, do what David did: run to God first. When victories come, also go to God first—to thank Him.
Stay focused. Stay grounded. Stay dependent on God.

Do not be carried away by praises or criticisms. Focus on your goals.
