The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Thursday 16th January 2026 Is “Still Forgive”

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Forgiveness is one of the most difficult things to do, especially when someone has deeply hurt you. Yet, as a follower of Christ, you are called to forgive—not because it is easy, but because it is necessary. Forgiveness is not optional; it is a requirement for a heart that truly reflects God’s nature.
The pain of betrayal or offense can feel overwhelming, but holding on to anger only increases the burden. Bitterness does not harm the person who hurt you; instead, it damages your own heart.
Forgiving someone does not mean that you have forgotten the offense or that the pain instantly disappears. It does not excuse what was done either. Rather, forgiveness is a conscious decision to let go of resentment and refuse to remain chained to the past.
Think about how much God has forgiven you despite your mistakes. Even when the hurt feels unbearable, remember that God has the power to heal your heart completely if you sincerely ask Him.
My dear child, when you forgive others, you open your heart to God’s healing grace. This releases you from anger and frees you from being controlled by the wrong done to you. I pray that the Lord will grant you the grace to forgive those who have hurt you, in Jesus’ name.
