“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”
You don’t need to have all the talent in the world to succeed; what truly matters is dedication and perseverance. Many people talk about what they can do, but only a few are willing to put in the work required to succeed. That is why the Bible reminds us that hard work brings profit, while idle talk leads to poverty.
When you put in your best effort—whether in your studies, skill development, or service to God—you are doing more than chasing grades, medals, or applause. You are honouring God with your diligence.
Hard work means showing up consistently, staying focused, and pushing through challenges even when things are difficult. Talent may open doors, but it is hard work that keeps those doors open.
My dear child, make it a habit to give your best in everything you do. Whether it’s completing your homework, excelling in sports, helping with house chores, or serving faithfully in church, do not shy away from responsibility.
Sometimes, people may not notice or appreciate your effort, but do not be discouraged. God sees your labour, and He is faithful to reward diligence. Trust Him and keep doing your best—He can multiply your efforts beyond your imagination.
