Open Heavens For Teens 12th January 2025 – Do You Know Jesus?

The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Sunday 12th January 2025 Is “Do You Know Jesus?”

Read: Luke 7:2-10

[2]And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
[3]And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
[4]And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
[5]For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
[6]Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
[7]Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
[8]For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
[9]When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
[10]And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Memorise: Job 13:15

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Your knowledge about Jesus has a lot to do with what you can get from Him. In Matthew 8:1-3, the Bible says that a leper came to Jesus and said, “I know that you can make me clean.” He did not say, “I think you can make me clean”; he knew, without any doubt, that Jesus could heal him, and he got his miracle. In Mark 5:25-34, the woman with the issue of blood knew that there was enough anointing in Jesus’ clothes to heal her.

In today’s Bible reading, the centurion also knew that Jesus could heal his servant. He was confident that his servant would get his healing if Jesus would only speak a word. When you truly know Jesus and how powerful He is, you can get whatever you ask Him for in prayers according to His will (1 John 5:14- 15).

When you pray to God in the name of Jesus, do you really know that He hears you? Do you know that He has the ability to provide all your needs and solve whatever problems you might be facing? If you indeed have this knowledge, I congratulate you because your problems are already over.

QUIZ: Jesus asked His disciples, “But whom say ye that I am?” Who answered, and what did he say?

KEY POINT
When you know the God you pray to, you can get anything from Him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Genesis 26:17-27:46, Matthew 9:1-17

HYMN 15: ‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS
1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

2. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

3. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

4. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
