The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Thursday 11th December 2025 Is “Handling Rejection”
Read: 1 Samuel 8:4–7 (KJV)

“And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.”
Today’s Bible reading tells us how Prophet Samuel was rejected by the people he had judged faithfully for many years.
They demanded a king, and this decision deeply saddened him, so he cried to God for comfort and guidance. Interestingly, God told Samuel to listen to the people and go ahead to anoint a king over them.
This teaches us that people have the right to express their opinions about us—whether positive or negative—but our response to their actions is what truly matters to God.
When I turned 70 and people began to criticize me, urging me to step down as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, I went to God in prayer to confirm if it was time to choose a successor.
God told me clearly that it was not yet time and instructed me to continue. By His grace, I am still running the race.
My dear child, when people throw shade at you or try to discourage you, do not become sorrowful or bitter. Instead, take the matter to God and seek His direction. Also, do not always assume that rejection means something is wrong with you. Sometimes, it is simply an opportunity to evaluate your life and identify areas where you can improve.
