MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 17TH APRIL 2024

In our memory verse today, we see Paul telling the people of a wonderful opportunity presented to him to advance his ministry. Alas, there were many adversaries (enemies or opposition). Paul often described opportunities of taking the gospel to places as open doors (2 Corinthians 2:12; Colossians 4:3; Acts 14:27). But we can see also that these open doors always attracted stiff opposition from the enemies of the gospel. Our open doors may vary according to our needs and life pursuits. We seek breakthroughs in one way or another. It could be in ministry work, business, academics, marriage, finances etc.

The enemies of your progress and advancement, like those of Paul, will not fold their hands and watch you enter into your doors of breakthroughs easily without any resistance. Because they hate your advancement and goodness, they will fight tooth and nail to ensure that you do not gain access. But what are you expected to do as a child of God when the enemy comes fiercely against your open doors? Firstly, you need to understand that for the enemies to fight to stop you from entering into your open door. There must something outstanding that the Lord wants to do.

The opposition is evidence that you will be mightily blessed to the glory of God and to the expansion of His heavenly kingdom. Souls will not only be won to the Lord, but destinies shall be lifted in many ways as well. That is why the contention against the open door of a genuine child of God is usually huge. Like Paul, you must not back down but rather double down on your goal when things get heated. You must not give up but show the enemy that greater is He that is in you than he that is in them (1 John 4: 4), and fight them to finish.
