MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 5TH SEPTEMBER 2023

Jesus wants His followers to learn how to pray and be consistent as well as diligent in their prayers. This is so because it is through prayers that God’s plans and purposes will be accomplished in their lives. In driving home His point. Jesus gave a parable that was meant to teach them how to pray and what would be accomplished when they learn to pray consistently and diligently.
It is important for Christians to have a good understanding of regularly engaging in prayer to God in all things and at all times. Prayer is communion and fellowship with God. It is not only asking from God, but also involves unburdening your mind and sometimes rubbing minds with God over a matter, which He might want you to handle for Him.

Prayer is the key to open all closed doors. Hence, Jesus gave the parable of the widow who prayed persistently until she got the answer she needed. God expects us to do the same. He wants us to keep knocking the door of His throne room until we receive answers to our prayers. Our memory verse emphasises that we should pray and not faint. That is, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Pray without getting tired or weary. Keep praying, like the widow, until the response comes. It is an obligation to pray and continue praying, to provoke change and give us our heart desires.

Dearly beloved, we owe it to ourselves to pray. By the mercy of God, we, as Christians, have a new life. By the wonders of this new life, we have been made partakers of the divine nature. This divine nature can only be maintained and kept alive by prayer (2 Peter 2:4). Although our heavenly Father knows what we desire, at the same time. He expects us to ask and it shall be given to us. Living a righteous life in Christ and becoming more like Him can only be done through His words and prayers as well as by asking daily for the grace to stand and continue in His will in spite of the opposition of satan and the world that surround us as believers in Christ.
Therefore, you must pray until you are totally soaked in the divine nature of Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Keep praying!
