FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 1:1-6
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 15:2
He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 20TH AUGUST 2024
When a child of God walks according to divine routing and leading, he or she will not miss the way in life and will end up a blessed man or woman. The Psalmist knows this fact and opened the book of Psalm with the blessings that come with being upright and walking according to divine guidelines. Who are your friends? What company do you keep, saints or sinners? If you stand instead of moving, you will tarry long in the wrong place and may be enticed to do evil. Lastly, the man who desires to be blessed should not sit with the scornful, mockers and rebellious people
The man that walketh not in these negative ways ends up being mightily blessed, also because he delights in the word of God and meditates upon it day and night, as it is written in Joshua 1:8, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night.” The blessedness is compared to the fruitfulness of a tree that is well watered. The outcome of which is prosperity in and out of season. Such a man would never suffer lack in any way. This is the express picture of whom God wants us to be, productive Christian, upholding godly values. But if you fail to walk on the right path, guarded by the Holy Spirit, such a man will miss his mark in life and fall into error. The Psalmist concluded by making clear the end of the ungodly, the sinner and the scornful; they shall not be named in the gathering of God’s people. Their end is destruction! I counsel you therefore to hold on to the way of righteousness, and transgenerational blessings shall be your portion, in Jesus’ name.

MORNING:
1. I refuse to company with the ungodly, in the name of Jesus.
2. My Father, deliver me from wrong associations and toxic relationships, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, help me to be in the centre of Your will all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING;
4. My Father, fill me with Your fullness, in the name of Jesus.
5. Holy Spirit, be my Guide and Counsellor, in the name of Jesus.
6. Holy Spirit, grant me Your help, in the name of Jesus.
7. I choose the way of righteousness, in the name of Jesus.
