17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 29TH DECEMBER 2024
When the Israelites successfully and triumphantly left Egypt, it was obvious that their God was the Great I am and the Man of war. There deliverance was dramatic; all nations heard of how Pharaoh and his hosts were destroyed and they feared the God of Israel. In spite of this, in the course of their journey, some Israelites doubted God and perished in the wilderness. Why? It was because though they left Egypt physically, the spirit and ways of Egypt were still in them. Hence, they could not get to the Promised Land.
Beloved, as we approach the New Year, I want you to realise that you must examine your life, do thorough spiritual screening and get rid of evil loads of Egypt. You must repent of all sins that easily beset. You must repent of anger, unforgiving attitudes, spiritual laziness and lukewarmness, eating of your tithe and all forms of disobedience. These evil loads can make crossing your Jordan difficult; they can make parting your Red Sea impossible; they can make getting to the Promised Land a fleeting illusion. That is why you must get rid of them.
Getting to your Promised Land is similar to making heaven. As prophet Isaiah wrote, “No ravenous beast shall be there. There shall be a highway and it shall be called holy; the unclean, sinful, disobedient and abominable shall not walk there or go there” (Isaiah 35). Holiness, obedience and unwavering faith in God are essential for making it to the New Year, your Promised Land and even to heaven! God’s will for you is that every New Year should be more glorious and more fulfilling than the previous ones. If you cooperate with God by getting rid of sin and the devil’s evil load, that divine expectation will become your reality. Do you want 2025 to be your best year ever? Turn your life over to God in absolute surrender, holiness and service. Get rid of sin, all Egypt’s spirits and evil load. There must be no evil carry over. See you in 2025, in Jesus’ name.
