All problems have causes, effect and sometimes solution as the case may be. However, with God, there is always solution to every problem because with God, all things are possible. The Almighty God always has our back as His beloved children. Jeremiah 29: 11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Another thing that actually causes problem in the family is pride. The Bible says that pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). Pride in the lives of family members will bring the wrath of God upon them. It does not allow God to move in the family as He would want to. It limits the move of God in the family. A proud family can never experience the fullness of God’s favour, glory and blessings generally. God resists the proud; He does not hide His disdain for pride. Therefore any family that is proud can never boast of the presence of God and all the blessings that come with it.
Pride in a family portends danger for that family. If you look at it very well, you would find that pride is behind every evil that men do to fellow men. Family members are not spared in its destructive work. That is how horrible pride can be. Joseph prided himself on his spiritual gift of dreams and visions, and also his father’s favour for him over his brothers and he was almost murdered by his brothers. The couple, Adam and Eve, became over-confident and never regarded God anymore. The end was the loss of peace and eventually, destruction. We must learn to raise our families to fear God and to give Him the glory always.
Pride leads to disobedience and rebellion. It causes strife and disunity. One proud person will put a whole family in trouble. Pride is a sin because it makes people self-centred instead of God- centred. In Matthew 3:9, John the Baptist warned the Pharisees and Saducees against their boastful pride and claim to have Abraham as their father. Naaman almost missed his miracle and God’s visitation to his family because of pride. I pray that pride will not destroy your family, in Jesus’ name.
ℙℝℝ ℙℕ:
1. Every spirit of pride in the foundation of my family, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Generational pride and arrogance in my family line, die, in the name of Jesus.
3. My family and I shall not be destroyed by the spirit of pride, in the name of Jesus.
4. Holy Spirit, teach us to fear the Lord and to honour Him, in the name of Jesus.
5. Spirit of humility, overshadow my family, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every good thing that my family has lost as a result of pride, be restored, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father Lord, glorify Your name in my family, in the name of Jesus.
