MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 12TH FEBRUARY 2023

God is in the business of making small things grow and become big. In the beginning, He created our parents, Adam and Eve. Then in Genesis 1:28, He blessed them saying. “Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over….” This blessing from God planted the capacity to grow and become big in man. Today, the male and female that God first created have increased to over seven billion people on the face of the earth.

Similarly, when God called Abraham alone, He promised to make him great and that he would become the father of all nations by whom all the families of the earth shall be blessed (Genesis 12:2-3). God moved Abraham from small and insignificant to big and great! Beloved, do not despise the days of little beginning.

Though your beginning be small, the Lord will make you great. Where you, your career, business, ministry, marriage and finances are today is not your final stop. No matter how small any area of your life may be, I encourage you to believe God for growth and greatness. The Bible assures believers that a little one shall become a thousand and a small one shall become a great nation (Isaiah 60:22).

Therefore, do not be afraid to start small. Many great ideas have died because their owners refused to start small and persevere. Many projects that would have positively impacted and changed lives have not taken off because the owners failed to realise that the way up is down and that a little drop of water makes the mighty ocean. I have had encounters with young entrepreneurs who want to venture into business and were looking for millions of naira. I told them that it is better to start small and invest small amount.

When they might have tested the waters and learnt a lot about the ups and downs of the business, then they would be able to invest bigger amount of money. Many of them heeded my advice and came back to thank me. The truth is that starting small will save you from avoidable losses and pain. So, in business and investment, starting small and growing big is the wise step to take while you look up to God the One that teaches you to make wealth.
