Beloved, one area of your spiritual life that God expects you to grow exponentially is your faith.
You must prioritise this goal in this new year. Faith is an indispensable companion in the journey
of every believer. Faith is having courageous trust in God and His unfailing abilities.
The Bible affirms that without faith it is impossible to please God.
Beloved, you need the faith that sees the invisible, believes the incredible and achieves the impossible.
The patriarchs that demonstrated those kinds of faith are worthy examples for us today.
They are tagged as the heroes and heroines of faith.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Beloved, it is your responsibility to ensure
that your faith grows, increases, gets strengthened, remains ever-active and increasingly productive.
When you grow your faith, you will successfully deepen your relationship with God.
Here are practical steps you should take to grow your faith in the Lord:
1. Have a regular diet of reading the Bible. Make use of a Bible reading plan that will
help you to read the Bible in a year. One of the values the Bible has the power to add to your life is faith.
It is written to produce faith in you. In John 20:31, the Bible says:
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing
ye might have life through his name.”
2. Put the word of God into practice. One mystery about God’s word is that it is not its hearer
or reader that gets truly blessed but its doer.
In Matthew 7:24–25, Jesus describes the person who hears God’s words and puts them into practice as a wise man
who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat
You should also memorise God’s word. Always hide its verses and passages in your heart. More so, you should discuss the word of God with others. Engage in Bible studies, small groups, and conversations about God’s word.
By paying attention to God’s word, we can deepen our faith, gain wisdom and guidance, develop a closer relationship with God, find comfort and encouragement, grow in spiritual maturity, increase our knowledge and understanding, enhance our ability to discern truth and experience transformation and renewal.
Beloved, this year, resolve to esteem God’s word more than your necessary food and value it more than gold and silver. As you pay greater attention to the Scriptures this year and make it your final authority, you will experience its life-transforming power and your joy will be full, in the name of Jesus.

- This year, I will be a doer of God’s word, not a hearer only, in the name of Jesus.
- I overcome every distraction and receive the grace to pay attention to God’s word, in the name of Jesus.

- Father, this year, help me to share Your word with others and save souls for You, in the name of Jesus.
