MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 19TH APRIL 2024

Speaking as the mouthpiece of God is a spiritual discipline that must be embraced by all believers in these last days so that each of us can be qualified to be addressed as the oracle of God. The instruction in the memory verse of today’s devotional is a divine command and highly instructive. God expects that each time we open our mouth to talk, our utterances should tally with His counsel. We should endeavour to speak like Him every time.

Unfortunately, one of the tragedies confronting the church today is the fact that many Christians lack a disciplined tongue, which makes them talk contrary to the counsel of God. This is so because of the obvious ignorance of the power of the spoken words. It is important for you to know that words are creative, either positively or negatively. Words can build up or pull down, words can attract favour or disfavour, words can either birth blessings or curses words can bring peace or troubles.

The type of words that proceed out of your mouth reveals your true personality. Words can either bring life or death. That is why the Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 that death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. A man once tested the power of the spoken words by planting the same species of seed in two different buckets. As they began to blossom, he started blessing one plant and cursing the other. Over time, the plant he was issuing blessings upon blossomed and became fruitful, while the cursed one withered and perished. As a Christian, you must have the understanding that you can use your words to birth your divine blueprint and help others connect to divine purposes as you speak like the mouthpiece of God.
