The Topic of MFM (Mountain Top Life) Daily Devotional for 31st March 2025 Is ”THE POWER OF COMPASSION”.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 16:1–17:20, Luke 9:7–27, Psalm 72:1–20, Proverbs 12:8–9
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 10:25–37
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27 So he answered and said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.
34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’
36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”
37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
MEMORY VERSE: Lamentations 3:22

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
The Lord shall have compassion upon you, in the name of Jesus.
MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday 31st March 2025.
The dictionary defines compassion as a strong feeling of sympathy for someone who is suffering and a desire to help him or her. There cannot be compassion without love and mercy. The compassionate love of God is the central theme of the Bible. It reflects God’s own nature, which we are to emulate in our dealings with others. Compassion is a powerful force.
God was moved by compassion to save mankind from eternal damnation through the great sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross (John 3:16). There are many instances in the Bible where Jesus was moved by compassion to attend to the needs of people.
Matthew 9:36 says, “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” Mark 6:34 says, “And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.”
If you read further down this passage, you would observe that apart from teaching the people, He also fed them so much that they had leftovers.
Lamentations 3:22 says, “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” This passage of the Scriptures tells us that God’s compassion is renewed every morning. It never stops until a person by himself puts a stop to it.
Psalm 103:13 says, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.” The fear of the Lord perpetuates His compassion over a person. Those who do not fear the Lord are not assured of His compassion.
Compassion is indeed a powerful force; that is why the Bible instructs us to show compassion. Colossians 3:12 enjoins us to: “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”
