MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
It is a common thing to see or hear of dead parents leaving behind for their children money or properties. This is called inheritance or legacy. There are few cases where dead parents left debts and deficit for their children. The wife of a dead prophet with two of her sons in the book of 2 Kings 4 inherited debt from her husband. In 2 Timothy 1:5, Lois and Eunice, the grandmother and mother of Timothy bequeathed a Godly legacy for their son. They communicated their strong Christian faith to Timothy.
As parents, what type of legacy or inheritance are you passing to your children? You can only give or bequeath what you have to your children or family members. Some parents are known for their drunkenness, smoking, pool betting, cultism, adultery, lying, anger, falsehood, and so on. Light attracts light. Be a shining example to your children and family members. Christian parents should not hide their light at home. Our families are fertile grounds to plant gospel seeds. Let your loved ones know and learn of your faith in Christ Jesus and see Christ’s love and joy in you.
In Proverbs 13:22a, the Bible says that a good man leaveth an inheritance for his children’s children…” What godly legacy can you bequeath to your children, as a good Christian? While your high-rise building and exotic cars as well as businesses are commendable and worthwhile legacies, such inheritance as good name, godly lifestyle and the Christ-like character they learnt from you will count for this life and eternity.
Some parents who bequeathed bad name, occultism, debt and so on for their children did so out of ignorance. Today, their children are battling with the problem of evil foundation. You should learn from them and not imitate them. Be wise!
As a godly parent, the legacy you should bequeath to your children are not just money and land and houses; Rather, leave for them godly spiritual foundation, good name and honour, heritage of faith, godly values and principles, and so on.

MORNING
- Power of God to give godly legacy for my children, possess me, in the Name of Jesus.
- Foundational evil inheritance, release me and my children, in the Name of Jesus.
- O Lord my Father, destroy the works of flesh in my life, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Power of inherited curse, scatter by fire, in the Name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, let not Your Spirit depart from me and my children, in the Name of Jesus.
- Glory of God, overshadow me and every member of my family, in the Name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, make me a shining example for my children, in the Name of Jesus.
