15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly*; twelve* princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Thursday 20th February 2025.
Bible readers would recall that Abraham had a son before Isaac by the bond woman Hagar. But God did not recognise him as an heir because he was not the child of promise. Before Ishmael was born, God had told Abraham that his wife Sarah would give him a son, who would continue the patriarchal lineage and not any other.
God is a God of order; He would neither break His own rules nor go against His word. He honours His word above His name, and His covenant He will never break nor alter what comes out from His mouth (Psalm 138:2). When Sarah overheard that God would bless her with her own child, she laughed, not believing. But at the set time, the word of God to the family of Abraham and Sarah came to pass.
So, who is the God of Isaac? The God of Isaac is the God that keeps covenants. He is the God that never fails. He is the God that makes you to laugh when all hope is completely lost, He appears in your situation when you least expect it. He is the God that knows no impossibility because He can do all things. The God of Isaac is the God of deliverance. He is the God of provision. He is the God that makes a way where there seems to be no way. He is the God that gives you the grace to laugh last over your enemies. Beloved, I want you to know that God has not forgotten you although the answer to your prayer seems to tarry. He will surely visit you at the appointed time and you shall testify. But there is a catch; never run ahead of the God of Isaac when you are praying and believing Him for something. If you do, you may run into an error that you may live with all the days of your life. Remember Ishmael

MORNING
1. O God of Isaac, answer me by fire, in the name of Jesus.
2. O God of Isaac, put laughter in my mouth, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God of Isaac, remember me for good today, in the name of Jesus.

4. O God of Isaac, make provision for me, in the name of Jesus.
5. O God of Isaac, empower me to laugh last over my enemies, in the name of Jesus.
6. O God of Isaac, help me to trust in You at all times, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God of Isaac, make a way for me where the enemy says there is no way, in the name of Jesus.
