MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday 17th September 2025.

Christians are called to be soldiers in the army of Jesus Christ. A Christian is not a civilian. His lifestyle, work and testimonies are supposed to reflect his calling as a soldier of Christ. The truth is that, once a Christian is saved, he is enlisted as a soldier of Christ. The Christian life is designed for spiritual conflict. He is to fight the good fight of faith and ensure that the kingdom of this world becomes that of God and His Christ. Let us examine the qualities that distinguish a soldier of Christ.

First, a soldier of Christ should be strong in the grace of God. He does not rely on his own strength but on the grace of God. It takes divine strength derived from the grace that is in Christ Jesus to succeed as a soldier of Christ. With the strength and grace, you can confront and overcome challenges as well as win battles in his army of the Lord. Second, a soldier of Christ is single-minded or focused. He is committed to pleasing his Master, the Generalissimo. He is also diligent in God’s work in order to show himself approved. In addition, a soldier of Christ is sanctified. That is, he is pure in the eyes of God. He is a servant equipped and ready to serve the Master.

Furthermore, a good soldier of Christ endure hardship. He does not just give up easily in the face of challenges. He has the ability to persevere, bear any pain and pay any price for the Master’s will to prevail.

Finally, a soldier of Christ is aware of the battle against the invisible evil forces. He is involved and equipped to fight and prevail. The soldier of Christ has put on the whole armour of God. He is strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). He puts on the WHOLE armour of God (Ephesians 6:10). He submits to God and always draw close to God (James 4:7,8). He resists the devil and the devil flees from him (James 4:7). He does not conform to worldly standards (Romans 12:2).

Beloved, use the foregoing as checklist and determine whether you are a soldier of Christ or not.
