MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday 17th December 2025.
In our previous studies, we examined the causes of disunity and its negative consequences. Today, we focus on the fruits of unity and why God places such high value on it.
The first fruit of unity is the ability to work together toward a common goal. Amos 3:3 asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Marriage, career, ministry, friendships, partnerships, and collaborations cannot yield the desired results without unity of purpose and direction. Matthew 18:19–20 further emphasizes this truth, revealing that where believers gather in agreement, the presence of the Lord is guaranteed. On the day of Pentecost, unity created the atmosphere for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as the disciples were all with one accord in one place (Acts 2:1). Paul also exhorted believers to stand fast in one spirit and strive together with one mind for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27).
The second fruit of unity is strength. There is undeniable strength in unity. Those who are united stand firm, sustained by the hand of the Almighty, while division leads to weakness and collapse. Judges 20:11 records that the army of Israel was knit together as one man. Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 and 12 confirms that two are better than one, for they can lift each other up, withstand opposition, and prevail, because a threefold cord is not easily broken.
The third fruit of unity is effective and fruitful outreach. Acts 2:1–2 and 41 reveal that when the believers were united, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and witnessed the salvation of three thousand souls. Unity creates an enabling environment for spiritual power, growth, and impact.
Beloved, this is why Jesus prayed fervently for the unity of the Church in John 17:11, 21–23. God’s desire is that we function as one body, working together in harmony to fulfill His purpose on earth.
