MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday 16th February 2025.

Prayer is one of the inestimable blessings of the Christian walk. Traveling far with God and having unfettered access to the treasures and glory of the Kingdom is the function of the vibrancy of the believer’s prayer life. The God we are serving answers prayers. The Bible says “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come” (Psalm 65:2) and “By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation;…” (Psa. 65:5). God blesses His people through answered prayers.

Jesus Christ also proved in His earthly ministry that God is highly interested in answering the prayers of His people.“… And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always:…(John 11:41-42). Jesus prayed and the loaves of bread were multiplied to feed the multitudes. He prayed, and Lazarus was brought back to life after four days. In fact, the exploits of Jesus Christ in His ministry are directly linked to the potency of His prayer life as revealed in the Gospel according to Luke. Many other biblical Saints prayed and God answered them speedily. Joshua prayed, and the sun and moon stood still. Elijah prayed and fire came down. Hannah prayed and her prayer dissolved the yoke of barrenness upon her life. The apostles prayed and different glorious manifestations followed.

Unfortunately, the same prayer-answering God has left many prayers unanswered. Why? This could be traced to many reasons such as (1) Praying amiss outside God’s will. (2) Asking for things to satisfy one’s lust. (3) Living in any form of sin. (4) Failure to forgive others (5) Lack of faith (6) Double-mindedness. (7) Unbelief (8) Living in disobedience and rebellion. (9) Becoming pompous at the place of prayer like the Pharisee in Luke 18:9-14. If you want God to answer your prayers, then avoid all these prayer killers.
