MFM Daily Devotional Message Friday 12th December 2025.

Today, our world is filled with prejudice and hatred based on class, race, ethnicity, nationality, and religion. The Bible condemns our categorisation of people into Jew or Gentile, slave or free, rich or poor, Greek or barbarian. God is not pleased with racial discrimination, tribalism, ethnic division or any form of segregation.

God promotes love, unity, and peaceful co-existence, and He commands us to do the same. Sadly, these values are disappearing in our day. In Acts 10, God showed Peter a vision to correct the deep-rooted discrimination of their time. It was considered unlawful for a Jewish man to keep company with people of another nation (Acts 10:28). Through that vision, God told Peter never to call any man common or unclean again. In other words, God is telling us to remove discrimination, partiality, and divisive tendencies from our hearts.

If Jesus had embraced discrimination, He would not have reached the Samaritan woman in John 4, and many would not have been saved through her. Jesus also honoured the faith of the Syrophoenician woman and gave her the miracle she sought despite her background. He went about doing good to everyone without partiality.

If we obey Scripture, our nations and societies will be free from the painful consequences of division—tribalism, gender bias, classism, and racism—issues that often result in avoidable conflicts and wars. Some parents have denied their daughters higher education because they believe only sons deserve such investment. Some employers refuse to employ people from certain tribes regardless of their qualifications. Some landlords deny accommodation to fellow Christians because they belong to another denomination or ethnic group. These forms of discrimination are endless, and God is displeased with them.

Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. This means every barrier and form of discrimination has been removed. Winning souls and advancing the gospel must become our priority. To achieve this, we must eliminate all forms of partiality, division, and discrimination at all levels.
