BIBLE IN ONE YEAR – Numbers 14:1-15:16, Mark 14:53-72, Psalm 53:1-6, Proverbs 11:4
FIRE SCRIPTURE – Matthew 7:7-11
7. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10. Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
MEMORY VERSE – Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday 10th March 2025.
To ask is to make a request for something; it is to call for an answer. To ask is to crave, beg, desire, require, want, or demand for something. To ask is to have the consciousness of our needs and the belief that God will hear our prayers while to receive is to acquire, or come into possession of something. Our Lord Jesus Christ encourages us to persevere in prayer, which involves our continuous action. This means we must keep asking, seeking, and knocking.
It is God’s will that we ask and get what we want. Christ’s assurance that those who ask will receive whatever they ask for is based on certain principles. First, we must endeavour to ‘seek first’ the kingdom of God. The Scripture says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Seeking the Kingdom of God is tantamount to your total commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over every facet of your life without wavering. Then, seeking His righteousness is equivalent to daily seeking the life of Jesus in its fullness.
We must also recognize God’s fatherly goodness and love for us. “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him” (Matthew 7:11).
It is equally important that we pray according to God’s will; otherwise, our prayer will be an exercise in futility. The Bible says, “Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14). Are you praying according to His will?
It is supremely important to cultivate and maintain a right relationship with Christ. It is written, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7). To cap it up, we must obey Him. “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” (1 John 3:22). While asking, put on the garment of faith and He will surely answer you.
