Many read this verse thinking only of the land God gives, but it’s also about the days He gives. Long life is directly connected to honouring your father and mother. (Ephesians 6:2) confirms this by quoting today’s
verse.
Honouring your father and mother unlocks longevity, increase, prosperity, peace, and divine protection. However, many Christians make the mistake of thinking that, because they’re now born again, honouring their biological parents is no longer necessary, that only spiritual parents matter.
This is a grave error. To fully benefit from this promise, you must honour both your biological and spiritual parents. Cherish and care for your parents while they are still with you. Never take them for granted, honour them and show your appreciation always.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I will never deny myself the blessing of long life through dishonour! Prosperity and peace are mine as I honour my biological and spiritual parents, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
