Many Christians are unforgiving of the failures of others. This uncharitable approach stems from a misunderstanding of the Gospel’s core message: Grace. It’s nearly too good to be true that Christ paid the penalty for all our sins – past, present, and future. This is the grace of God. This does not give us license to sin, not at all! Grace is an empowerment not to sin!
Hebrews 9:14-15 underscores the price- less gift of Christ’s blood shed for all, no
matter the depth of our transgressions. Yet many Christians struggle with releasing the gavel of judgment, particularly against fellow Christians, scrutinizing their (real or perceived) failures under a microscope.
The challenge is simple: forgive. There’s nothing more burdensome than a guilty conscience and the barrier it creates between us and the guilt-free life that Christ paid the ultimate price to bestow upon us. Forgiving others, and even ourselves, is a testament to Christ’s sacrifice. Receive the gift that Christ suffered and died to give you: a cleansed conscience and a guilt-free life!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I forgive myself and others. I refuse to carry the burden of a guilty conscience into my promised land. Christ cleansed my conscience with His blood, and I live a guilt-free life!
