DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY

The mighty Niagara River drops about 180 feet at the American and Horseshoe Falls. Just before these falls, the waters rage violently in turbulent rapids. Farther upstream, however, the river flows calmly, allowing boats to travel safely.

Near the point where the Welland River joins the Niagara, a pedestrian bridge spans the river. On the pillars of this bridge is a warning sign for boaters: “Do you have an anchor?” followed by another question: “Do you know how to use it?”

Child of God, have you considered that Jesus Christ is the Anchor of your soul in the storms of life?

In today’s passage, Apostle Paul uses the image of an anchor to describe the believer’s safety in Christ amid the uncertainties and dangers of life. A boat without an anchor, especially during storms, is at risk of being swept away and destroyed

Likewise, a life not anchored in Christ is vulnerable to despair, fear, and spiritual shipwreck. Christ is presented as the sure and steadfast Anchor who holds the soul firm and prevents it from being overwhelmed by life’s trials. He is the Guarantor of the new covenant, whose faithfulness cannot fail.

Life is not always smooth. Storms of disappointment, loss, sickness, failure, and confusion will surely come. Many people become depressed or hopeless because they lack something strong and dependable to hold on to.

This explains the alarming rise in suicide and emotional breakdowns in society. Anchoring the soul in Christ produces far better results than relying solely on rehabilitation programmes, meditation techniques, or psychological self-help methods.

Even religion, when separated from a personal relationship with Christ, becomes empty and powerless. Good works, rituals, pilgrimages, and moral efforts alone cannot sustain the soul when real storms arise.

The call today is clear and urgent: come to Christ and anchor your life in Him. Only Jesus can provide lasting peace, true security, and eternal hope. He alone can preserve the soul through life’s storms and safely bring us into His everlasting kingdom.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

If Christ is your Anchor, you need not fear the fiercest storms.
