DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
David Kim (1935–2022), once an atheist from South Korea, experienced a radical transformation after encountering the truth of Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. As he studied the story of Calvary, his hardened heart was softened by the realization of the incomparable love demonstrated through Jesus’ death. The revelation that Christ willingly offered Himself to redeem humanity led him to surrender his life to God, and he became a missionary, devoting the rest of his life to sharing this life-changing message.
His story mirrors the experience of countless believers across generations who have discovered that the sacrifice of Christ is not just symbolic—it is the ultimate and final act of divine mercy that offers eternal redemption.
The passage in Hebrews 9 beautifully contrasts the Old Testament sacrificial system with the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ. While the Old Covenant relied on repeated offerings of animal blood that could only cleanse outwardly, Jesus’ one-time sacrifice penetrated deeply, cleansing the human conscience and reconciling believers to God once and for all.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus became both the High Priest and the Lamb of God, entering the heavenly sanctuary with His own blood to secure eternal redemption for mankind. His sacrifice was not temporary—it was final, complete, and sufficient.
This truth liberates believers from the endless cycle of guilt, condemnation, and works-based religion. In Christ, we no longer strive for acceptance; we live from the assurance that we are already accepted and cleansed. The blood of Jesus enables us to serve the living God with pure hearts and renewed minds.
Therefore, anyone who still relies on rituals, self-effort, or religious ceremonies for salvation denies the sufficiency of the cross. True freedom and transformation come only through the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ, which has opened the way to eternal life and fellowship with God.
