DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY

Between 1942 and 1945, during the dark days of the Holocaust, a few heroic acts of self-sacrifice stood out. One of the most inspiring was that of Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker who risked her life to save Jewish children in Warsaw, Poland. Nicknamed “Mother Teresa of the Warsaw Ghetto,” she organised an underground network that smuggled hundreds of children out of danger and hid them in safe homes.

Her bravery and self-sacrificing love remind us of the Lamb of God — Jesus Christ — who willingly laid down His life to redeem humankind from sin and eternal death. Irena’s act was noble, but Christ’s was divine and eternal, for He offered Himself once and for all as the spotless Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).

In today’s passage, the Apostle John was given a majestic vision of heaven. He saw a scroll sealed with seven seals, which no one could open — until the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, stepped forward. Yet, when John looked, he saw not a lion but a Lamb as it had been slain — a powerful image of Christ’s victory through sacrifice.

This heavenly revelation comforts believers, reminding us that Christ alone is worthy to reveal and fulfil God’s divine plan for humanity. His triumph over sin, death, and hell secures our salvation and guarantees our future victory.

The Lamb’s seven horns and seven eyes symbolise His perfect power and complete knowledge through the Holy Spirit. His authority is unlimited, and His presence fills the earth.

This passage also calls us to a life of sacrifice, gratitude, and imitation. Have you truly accepted Christ’s sacrifice and appropriated its benefits in your life? Do you willingly sacrifice your time, comfort, and resources to help others — or do you shrink from personal inconvenience?

Christ’s redemption was costly. His blood paid the ultimate price for your salvation. Therefore, believers are called to live daily in appreciation of this great deliverance and to share His redemptive love with others.

Finally, remember that the victorious Lamb is also the reigning King. He has overcome, and through Him, we too are more than conquerors. No matter what you face, hold fast to His power and promise — for the Lamb who was slain now reigns forever.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Appreciate and amplify the precious cost of your redemption.
