DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
Nothing pleases God more than wholehearted obedience to His call. Scripture repeatedly affirms the undeniable truth that obedience to God always attracts His holy blessings.
In Genesis chapter 12, we encounter Abram (later called Abraham) taking centre stage as he receives a divine call from God. This call demanded separation, sanctified living, and an exclusive walk with God.
It was a call loaded with divine promises and eternal rewards. Abram’s response was immediate and decisive—an obedience that remains both remarkable and commendable.
Abram’s departure from Haran marked the beginning of a separated life, vividly illustrating the journey of believers who desire eternal fellowship with God. His call mirrors our own call today, and just as Abram obeyed without hesitation, believers are expected to respond likewise.
Though expressed in different words across Scripture, this call remains constant in meaning and purpose. It echoes through both the Old and New Testaments—cutting across race, region, culture, creed, and civilisation.
The apostle Paul captures this divine summons clearly:
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord… and I will receive you… and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17–18).
God’s call has never been empty of blessings. Abraham received a sevenfold blessing; believers today inherit blessings that stretch across time and into eternity.
What a priceless invitation this is! The choice lies before you. The price has already been paid. In love and compassion, Jesus declares: “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” Even now, He pleads, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock…” (Revelation 3:20).
To the sinner or the backslider, this is a moment of grace. Your response determines your eternal destiny. Choose wisely. Choose promptly. Respond decisively. Be an Abraham!
