DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
A preacher was once diagnosed with a rare and terminal form of cancer. Afraid to tell his congregation and unsure of how long he had to live, he cried earnestly to God for healing.
Two weeks later, during a follow-up medical examination, both the preacher and the doctor were astonished—the cancer had completely disappeared.
The preacher admitted that although he prayed, he never imagined God would answer so dramatically. Indeed, God still amazes His people with incredible answers to prayer.
The early Church also experienced intense persecution. Herod Agrippa I had already killed Apostle James and was preparing to execute Peter.
In response, the Church did not protest or panic; instead, they engaged in intense, continuous prayer. While Peter was kept under maximum security, God sent an angel to deliver him miraculously.
After his escape, Peter went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where believers were praying. Ironically, those who prayed fervently were shocked when the answer arrived.
The report of Peter’s release sounded too good to be true. This teaches us that although we pray, we must also believe that God can answer beyond our expectations.
This account reminds us that prayer should not be a last option but our first response to every challenge—personal or collective. God’s answers may come suddenly, unexpectedly, and in ways we never imagined.
Peter’s wisdom after his release is also noteworthy. He did not remain in the house or draw unnecessary attention to himself.
Aware of the danger his presence could pose to others, he quietly relocated. This teaches us that while testimonies are powerful, wisdom must guide how and when they are shared.
