DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY

History records several instances where human predictions proved accurate through careful research, analysis, and creativity. One notable example is the Titanic disaster. In 1898, Morgan Robertson wrote a novella titled Futility, which described a massive ocean liner called the SS Titan sinking in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg.

The similarities between the fictional event and the real sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912 are astonishing. Both vessels were described as “unsinkable,” were the largest ships of their time, travelled similar routes, and sank on a cold April night after striking an iceberg.

Furthermore, in 1985, oceanographer Robert Ballard accurately predicted the depth at which the Titanic wreck would be found—about 12,500 feet—before its discovery on September 1, 1985.

If human predictions, limited by time, knowledge, and uncertainty, can be so precise, how much more the declarations of the infinite and infallible God. Our text records one such unmistakable fulfilment of divine prophecy.

It recounts the wicked reign of King Jehoiachin of Judah, his eventual exile to Babylon, and the plundering of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar—events that occurred exactly as God had foretold through Prophet Jeremiah.

God’s words never fail, whether they come as warnings of judgment against sin or promises of hope and blessing to the obedient. When God speaks, time, human resistance, unbelief, or rebellion cannot stop His word from coming to pass.

While human predictions may fail, everything God has spoken in the past has been fulfilled to the letter. Likewise, all that He has spoken concerning our lives today and the future of the world will surely be fulfilled with the same precision.

What then should be our response to God’s Word? Faith and obedience. Just as judgment came upon Judah and her kings because of persistent sin and rebellion, God has also declared judgment upon all unrepentant sinners.

Those who believe God’s Word will tremble, repent, and receive forgiveness. But those who continue in defiance will one day confront the undeniable fulfilment of God’s warnings—when it may be too late.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

If God said it, you need no second opinion.
