DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
The American astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon on July 21, 1969. As he stepped onto the lunar surface, he spoke the now-famous words: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Yet, behind that single step were years of intense preparation, dangerous training, near-fatal accidents, failed missions, harsh criticisms, and even moments of deep personal struggle. That historic moment came at a great price.
Similarly, in today’s passage, Daniel alone saw the vision while the men with him perceived nothing except overwhelming fear. The reason is clear: Daniel had paid the spiritual price required to encounter divine revelation.
First, Daniel was described as “a man greatly beloved.” He maintained a deep, consistent relationship with God, unlike those around him who were likely not spiritually sensitive. Divine revelation is often reserved for those who cultivate intimacy with God.
Second, Daniel was devoted to seeking God through fasting, earnest prayer, and careful study of Scripture. He was not casually curious; he was passionately hungry to understand God’s agenda for his people. His focused pursuit aligns with the truth in Hosea 6:3 — that deeper knowledge of God comes to those who diligently follow on to know Him.
Today’s fast-paced world is filled with noise, distractions, and constant activity. Many desire divine guidance but are unwilling to pay the price of quietness, discipline, and spiritual focus. However, God still reveals His secrets to those who deliberately step away from the crowd and seek Him sincerely.
If you truly desire divine revelation, you must intentionally create space for God — in prayer, in the Word, and in quiet fellowship. In that secret place, God reveals great and mighty things to those who are attentive to His voice.
