DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
It is recorded that while John Wesley was returning from an evangelistic outing, a robber snatched his Bible case and fled. Rather than reacting in anger, Wesley called out to him, saying there was something else he had forgotten to take. Surprised, the robber stopped. Wesley then told him, “If you ever regret this action, remember that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin.”
Years later, a man approached Wesley after a meeting and asked if he recognized him. When Wesley said no, the man revealed that he was the robber. The words Wesley had spoken that day stayed with him, troubling his conscience until he eventually surrendered his life to Christ.
This story illustrates the power of God’s Word and the cleansing efficacy of the blood of Jesus. Humanity’s greatest problem is sin, and God’s perfect solution was the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary. The blood shed there was sufficient—once and for all—to provide forgiveness and reconciliation with God.
Scripture teaches that the blood of Jesus cleanses those who walk in the light. It is not merely a symbolic expression; it represents the completed redemptive work of Christ. Through it, sins are forgiven, consciences are purified, and fellowship with God is restored.
No matter how deep a person has fallen, the grace made available through Christ is greater. The blood of Jesus not only pardons but also empowers believers to live victoriously over sin. It assures us of mercy and speaks on our behalf before God.
Therefore, let every believer continually trust in the finished work of Christ. Walk in the light. Confess your sins. Rely fully on His atoning sacrifice. The blood of Jesus remains sufficient for salvation, cleansing, and daily victory.
