ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 4th December 2024 Is “Exalting God Through Faith”
Read: Daniel 6: 25-28(NKJV)
25 Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.
27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 4TH DECEMBER 2024.
In today’s passage, we see King Darius issue a decree that people from all nations and languages should serve the God of Daniel. Darius gave a public testimony to the power and glory of the true and living God. Daniel who had been thrown into the lion’s den for choosing to please God rather than an earthly king (Acts 4: 19), was rewarded for his faithfulness and consistency. God prospered him during the reign of Darius and Cyrus.
Daniel epitomized the call Jesus would later give to believers to be the salt and light of the world (Matt. 5: 13-16). Even Daniel’s enemies had to admit, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God’ (Dan. 6: 5).
It is commendable when people possess impeccable character that cannot be accused of doing wrong except in matters relating to their faith. Our God lives, reigns and rescues. Whether we face the fiery furnace or the roaring lion, we are in the Lord’s care and He will work out His divine purpose for His glory.
PRAYER: O Lord, deliver me from the hands of the wicked and show yourself strong in my life through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
