ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 30th December 2024 Is “Bearing Witness To The Light”
Read: 1 John 1: 1-10(NKJV)
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life–
2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us–
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 30TH DECEMBER 2024.
In introducing his letter, the Apostle John bears witness to that which was from the beginning, which he heard, saw, touched and handled, concerning Jesus, the Word of Life (John 1: 14). He proclaims faithfully his personal experience with Jesus-the Word of life, the eternal life and the light of God (v.3), with the sole aim of encouraging his hearers to embrace the life and light that Jesus represents. God is Light, and there is no darkness at all in Him. To associate with Him therefore, we must walk in the Light and in fellowship with one another, and allow the Blood of Jesus to purify us from all sin.
Do not Miss This: Prayers for The Last Day of The Year
Beloved, who do you fellowship with? Our text says we fellowship with God and with fellow brethren. We must immediately repent and confess each time the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin (vv. 9-10). Always remember that Jesus was with God in the beginning – before creation-and that all things were created through Him, and for Him. He has authority over all things seen and unseen, including demonic thrones and principalities; they all tremble at the mention of the name that is above every other name-the name Jesus.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, keep me in true fellowship with you and help me to bring others to experience your life and light. Amen.
