- Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
- For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods.
- In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also.
- The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land.
- Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
- For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 2ND JUNE 2024.
Joy is very important in serving the Lord. Coming unto the Lord as on this day requires that we do it in an atmosphere of joy (Psalm 122:1). Being joyful in the presence of the Lord makes worship fulfilling and spiritually rewarding. This is the main point the Psalmist makes in our reading today. He says “Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make joyful noise unto him with psalms” (verse 2). One major reason for expressing joy in worship is simply because the “Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods” (verse 3). The Lord owns and controls all, so the joy of coming to worship Him must engulf anyone who seeks to do so. Joy in worship comes from the consideration of God’s awesomeness manifested in the created order (verse 5). True worship is that which is born out of intense joy in God’s presence.
Brethren, as we go to the house of God today to fellowship in His presence with other believers, let us go with our hearts full of joy. This is the way we can experience the hand of God upon our lives. God wants us to be joyful because in His presence, there is fullness of joy and everlasting pleasure at His right hand. You shall have joy and gladness as you worship God today and always.
SONG: I have joy I belong to Jesus.
