ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 28th July 2024 Is “ Relationship With God Through His Word”
Read: Psalm 119: 81-96(NKJV)
119:81. My soul faints for Your salvation, But I hope in Your word.
119:82. My eyes fail [from searching] Your word, Saying, “When will You comfort me?”
119:83. For I have become like a wineskin in smoke, [Yet] I do not forget Your statutes.
119:84. How many [are] the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me?
119:85. The proud have dug pits for me, Which [is] not according to Your law.
119:86. All Your commandments [are] faithful; They persecute me wrongfully; Help me!
119:87. They almost made an end of me on earth, But I did not forsake Your precepts.
119:88. Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
119:89. Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
119:90. Your faithfulness [endures] to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides.
119:91. They continue this day according to Your ordinances, For all [are] Your servants.
119:92. Unless Your law [had been] my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.
119:93. I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life.
119:94. I [am] Yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts.
119:95. The wicked wait for me to destroy me, [But] I will consider Your testimonies.
119:96. I have seen the consummation of all perfection, [But] Your commandment [is] exceedingly broad.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 28TH JULY 2024.
Here, the Psalmist presents different aspects of his relationship with God through the word of God. In our text, he says that he hopes in the word of God. He also searches the word for comfort and sees all the commandments of God as faithful. In spite of the plans of the enemy, the Psalmist did not forsake God’s word. He is certain that God’s word is settled forever in Heaven, and his delight is in His law, such that he pledges never to forget God’s rules that guide his life. It is clear that the Psalmist has a very close relationship with God through his word. This means that he spent quality time searching the word for his salvation, hope, comfort, help and protection. How is your relationship with God’s word? Do you read, meditate and obey the word of God? (Josh. 1: 8).
Do you have an intentional plan of reading, studying, memorizing, meditating on and obeying God’s word on a daily basis? Decide today to build a strong relationship with God’s word.
PRAYER: Lord, help me build a strong relationship with you by searching the Scriptures daily.
