Read: Matthew 28: 16-20(NKJV)
28:16. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.
28:17. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
28:18. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
28:19. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
28:20. “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.” Amen.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 27TH JULY 2024.
We are commemorating the Church Missionary Society (CMS)Anniversary today. This year marks the 167th CMS Anniversary when we celebrate that the CMS brought the gospel of Christ to Igbo land on July 27, 1857. Recall that the CMS had already come to Badagry in 1842. Just as the CMS came from England to Africa to preach the gospel, Christians have been commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them the Word of God. Jesus promised to be with us always as we obey the Great Commission.
As a Christian, have you taken the work of making disciples seriously? Evangelism and making disciples of all nations are very crucial tasks for all believers (Matt. 28: 18-20), and Jesus promised to be with those who will go out and make disciples. Are you zealous to make disciples? How many people have you told about Jesus Christ this year? If you have not, please ask Jesus to fill you to give you the boldness to be an effective soul winner. Yield your heart to the Holy Spirit and ask for empowerment for making disciples.
PRAYER: Gracious Lord, thank you for the CMS; help me to preach the gospel everywhere, Amen.
