7. “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed [is] he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8. Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
9. Then he said to me, “See [that you do] not [do that.] For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
10. And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.
11. “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 23RD NOVEMBER 2025.
Today’s passage tells us that Jesus is coming quickly and that those who keep the sayings of the prophecy are blessed. Are you ready for the coming of the Lord? You can make yourself ready by keeping the word of God.
When you begin to keep God’s word, you will find yourself earnestly waiting and desiring for the coming of the Lord. But if you are living in sin according to the standards of the world, you will not desire the coming of the Lord.
In fact, you will not want to hear or be reminded that Jesus Christ is coming back soon. When John saw the revelations, he fell down to worship at the feet of the angel, but the angel forbade him, saying that he (the angel) was a fellow servant (vv. 8&9).
Today, many political and Church leaders and the rich want people to worship them. They blow their own trumpets and have people chant their praises in exchange for money and other gifts.
Some Church leaders give false testimonies of themselves so that people will regard them highly and honor and worship them. However, whenever you desire that men praise or honor or worship you, you are tampering with God’s glory.
Having forbidden John from worshipping him, the angel instructed John to worship God. Today, some preachers and leaders point people to themselves. This is wrong.
We must take example from John the Baptist who pointed people to Jesus Christ (Luke 3:15&16). From today, let’s point people to Jesus Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith.
PRAYER POINT: Almighty God, incline my heart to give You all the glory, and point men to you, Amen.
