ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 22nd November 2024 Is “Bowing To God’s Majesty”
Read: Daniel 4: 34-37(NKJV)
34 And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?”
36 At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.
37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 22ND NOVEMBER 2024.
Nobody taught Nebuchadnezzar to praise God. He experienced what he could not explain and started to sing praises of God. God decided to teach him a little lesson and to demonstrate His power again to Nebuchadnezzar by turning him to feed on grass like oxen. He immediately turned to a chorister to praise the greatness of God. He realized that God “…does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, ‘What have you done?’” (v.35).
Imagine the benevolence of God in the whole matter; He preserved the kingdom for Nebuchadnezzar for the seven years he was off the throne. Any of his ambitious officials could have seized power or slain the king and taken over. Many find it very difficult to recognize and honour God until they find themselves in horrible experiences, like Nebuchadnezzar. Right now, can you pause and recall the goodness of the Lord to you and your family from your time of birth till date? Have you found time to praise God for any terrible condition you scaled through? You don’t need to wait until you go through a negative experience before you realize it is time to give God quality praise. Start today to praise God for all the daily benefits He loads us with.
Prayer/Song:
“Who is like unto thee, O Lord? (2x),
Among the gods, who is like thee,
glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders,
Halleluiah!”
