Anglican Communion Devotional
Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 21st November 2024 Is “Fulfilment Of King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream ”

Read: Daniel 4: 28-33(NKJV)

28 All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.
29 At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon.
30 The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”
31 While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!
32 And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”
33 That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 21ST NOVEMBER 2024.

The interpretation to King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was fulfilled within the space of twelve months. As the Scripture says, “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Prov. 16:18), the king walked around his royal palace in Babylon, full of pride for his great achievements and took the glory to himself; saying “Is not this great Babylon that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honour of my majesty?” (v.30). He was all full of himself.

However, while the words were still in the king’s mouth, judgement came and he was driven from among men into the forest,”He ate grass like oxen” (v.33). No leader works alone; leadership is teamwork. You may have the vision, but there is always a think-tank and foot soldiers who execute the business. God rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomsoever He wills. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and we must never take his glory to ourselves because He is jealous and does not share his glory with any man (Isa. 42: 8).

If God gives one a kingdom or a gift, then it must be used to His glory and not for personal aggrandisement. In the midst of prosperity, fear God and give him all the glory.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for all you have done for me. I give you all the glory, honour and praise.
