Anglican Communion Devotional
Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 1st November 2024 Is “Who Are Saints?”

Read: Psalm 149: 1-9(NKJV)

1 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
7 To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute on them the written judgment– This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 1ST NOVEMBER 2024.

Today is All Saints’ Day, a day set aside by the Church to remember all the Saints, both triumphant (who have died) and militant (who are still living). This Psalm is one of praise. The saints and all Israel are called upon. to praise the Lord. There was also the call to praise God with instruments, with dancing, and with two-edged sword to execute judgment upon heathen nations and those who offended God.

It is often taken for granted that those who gather to worship God in any setting – formal or informal – are taken to be saints or children of God. Verse 1 states thus, “… Sing to the Lord a new song and His praise in the congregation of saints.” But, who really are saints? Saints are those who decided to accept the finished work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary by confessing their sins, repenting of them and opening their hearts to accept Jesus as their Lord and Personal Saviour.

God is waiting for you to do that today if you have not done so already or if you have backslidden. This will qualify you to be a saint.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to You today so that I may have the opportunity to be counted as one of Your saints-living or dead.

The Anglican Communion is the fourth-largest Christian denomination. Founded in 1867 in London, England, the communion currently has 85 million members within the Church of England and other national and regional churches in full communion. {.…Read more...}
