ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 18TH JANUARY 2026.
The marriage feast at Cana of Galilee remains a popular and unfading story, simply because Jesus was there. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was at that wedding. Jesus and His disciples were also invited.
Mary noticed a problem during the wedding, went to Jesus and instructed the servants to do whatever He told them. What made the feast remarkable was the miracle performed by Jesus, how that He turned water into wine.
Not only was there a miracle of wine but that the wine was confirmed to be the best of wines by the governor of the feast. Many people live their lives without involving God in what they do.
They only remember God when things go wrong or when there is a problem. The embarrassing situation that arose at that wedding could have brought shame and disgrace to both the wedding couple and their friends and relatives.
But since they invited Jesus, He brought solution to their problem. When we invite Jesus into our life, He brings the best out of it. God’s way is to give the best first, and always. Why involve Him only when your own wine fails meanwhile, you could involve Him at the very beginning and get the best?
PRAYER POINT: father; Help Me to Always Trust in You and Refuse to Lean on My Own Understanding. Amen.
