Daily Fountain is a daily flow of refreshing scriptures, sermons, and prayers to help you start your day with Jesus Christ. it is the devotional by The Anglican Communion, which is the fourth-largest Christian denomination. Read and be refreshed.
The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 15th January 2025 is “Christ Is With Us”
Read: Hebrews 2:13-18(NKJV)
13 And again: “I will put My trust in Him.” And again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”
14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.
17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 15TH JANUARY 2025.
Our text shows the humanity of Christ, who, being God, took on human form in order to deliver mankind from the bondage of Satan, sin, and death. He was tempted like every man, but remained faithful. Through His human experience, He is able to provide succour to all who are tempted and troubled. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” He tasted death for us and, having conquered it, has brought many sons to glory. Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Just as he identified with us in sin and death, we now identify with Him in His resurrection, and that is why He now relates with us as brethren. He has reconciled us to the Father and made us joint-heirs with Him.
Beloved, whatever you are going through now is not new to the Lord Jesus Christ-he is always with us as our present help in times of trouble. The hymn writer in the Church of Nigeria Hymn Book (CNH 827) was inspired to write, “Jesus knows all about our struggle, He will guide till the day is done.” Do not be afraid anymore; Christ is with us.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being there for me always.
