ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 15TH FEBRUARY 2026.
After teaching the multitude by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus moved on and saw Levi (also called Matthew), at the tax office. On invitation from Jesus to follow Him, Matthew obeyed. At a dinner in Matthew’s house, Jesus with His disciples, sat and ate with many tax collectors and sinners.
The scribes and Pharisees demanded to know why Jesus ate and drank with tax collectors and sinners, and in His response, Jesus informed them that only a sick person needs a physician and that He came solely to call sinners to repentance.
Jesus came to seek and to save lost souls(Luke 19:10). The quest to search for souls made Jesus to go to the sea side, to the tax office, and to a dinner with sinners. His goal was to win souls for the kingdom of God.
To win sinners for Christ, Christians need to go out for evangelism, to where the sinners are. Do you make it a point of duty to go out and preach the gospel? This will be hard, except you are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. Are you a Jesus’ follower or are you an online follower? If you are a follower of Jesus, then preach the word(2Tim.4:2).
PRAYER POINT: Dear Lord, please grant me grace to search and preach to souls.
