The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 15th December 2025 is “Divine Visitation and The Matter of Location”
Read: Luke 1:26-33(NKJV)
26. Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
27. to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name [was] Mary.
28. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored [one,] the Lord [is] with you; blessed [are] you among women!”
29. But when she saw [him,] she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
30. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31. “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.
32. “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
33. “And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 15TH DECEMBER 2025.
The story here is commonly referred to as the Annunciation of Jesus. But our focus is the remoteness of the location of this visit. It was Galilee, a place held in contempt because it was over-run with Gentiles.
And specifically, to the small village of Nazareth, which was a hotbed of corruption. Remember the exclamation of Nathaniel when he heard about the Lord: “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”
Nathaniel was living in a neighboring city, so he knew so much about the corruption of Nazareth and the fact that nothing good was expected from it. Yet to this corrupt town, went Gabriel, bearing the world’s greatest announcement.
Rather than being influenced by the city, Mary radically altered the historical perspective of the place and giving birth to Jesus here permanently changed the outlook of the city, in time and in eternity.
Today, we call Him Jesus of Nazareth. This is to encourage us that God’s visitation is not determined by location. We do not need to ‘japa’ before we can receive divine visitation.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, position me for your recognition and visitation.
